Secondhand Smoke Educational Toolkit

KIISS's secondhand smoke educational toolkit is for use by agencies serving parents/caregivers or family of young children. This kit was funded by First 5 - Placer County Children and Families Commission.

Placer County, California family support agencies, schools, etc. can receive a toolkit complete with training materials CD, video DVD, pamphlets, and decals, free of charge by contacting KIISS at 916.780.0226.

Secondhand Smoke Toolkit Training Guide
 
Provides information and tips about the components of the KIISS Secondhand Smoke Toolkit. The guide is written in English and Spanish. The English portion runs from page 1 to page 13. The Spanish portion runs backward, from page 26 to page 14.

Secondhand Smoke PowerPoints
 
The secondhand smoke PowerPoints are comprehensive presentations on the dangers of secondhand smoke. They are available in both English and Spanish, and in either presentation or slideshow format. The presentation format has footnotes and references available to provide additional information to the user. It requires that the user have Microsoft PowerPoint installed on his/her computer. The PowerPoint Slide Show does not contain the footnotes, but can be viewed without PowerPoint already installed on the user's computer.

Secondhand Smoke Videos - All Audiences
 
This video contains information on the dangers of secondhand smoke and ways to protect children. It is intended for all audiences - parents, caregivers, and other friends and family members of children. It is available in English and with Spanish narration.

Secondhand Smoke Videos - High School Audience
 
This video was created by high school students to educate other high school students about the dangers of secondhand smoke. It is available in English, and with Spanish subtitles.

Secondhand Smoke Pamphlets
 
These pamphlets contain information on the dangers of secondhand smoke to children. The pamphlets can be printed off at a local print shop using the artwork provided. The pamphlets are available in English or Spanish.

Secondhand Smoke Decals
 
These decals are intended to be placed on cars or in the home. The pamphlets have cut-outs for inserting the decals within. The decals can be printed off at a local print shop using the artwork provided. The home and car decals are both available in English or Spanish.

Secondhand Smoke Posters
 
These posters are designed to give parents/caregivers the message that secondhand smoke is dangerous. They can be printed inexpensively at any local printing shop.

Secondhand Smoke Toolkit Surveys
 
These surveys are designed to let us know how effective our secondhand smoke educational materials are. If you are utilizing the toolkit, please provide the parents/caregivers viewing your presentation with one of these surveys prior to doing your presentation. Instructions on how to administer the survey and return it to us are in the training guide. Please assist us in continuing our efforts to educate parents by administering and returning this survey to KIISS. Thank you!
